It is the fair thing to do having made the consolidated banks to go through the process. It is also the way to build credibility into the process, as reversing the rule after the game is simply unjustifiable.

what would happen to the existing depositors in the bank. Are they going to be the sarcrifical lambs of the banking industry? i think the mangement of the banks should be removed and then the banks through the CBN should be merged with existing ones.

Weak banks are like cancer and will eventually consume the entire financial system. Early removal of weak banks with prosecution of the management of such banks will discourage irresponsible management of banks and restore public confidence in banking.
