Ecobank appoints new executives

Yves Mayilamene has been named Group Executive for Human Resources, while Josephine Anan-Ankomah has been appointed the Group Executive for Commercial Banking and Paul-Harry Aithnard is the new Managing Director of Ecobank Cote d’Ivoire.
Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI), a leading Pan-African banking group, has announced the appointment of three new executives. They are Yves Mayilamene, who is named Group Executive for Human Resources; Josephine Anan-Ankomah, has been appointed Group Executive for Commercial Banking; and Paul-Harry Aithnard who is now the Managing Director of Ecobank Cote d’Ivoire.
According to a statement released by ETI on Wednesday, the appointments follow an internal recruitment process to replace executives that resigned and are soon-to-retire. As members of the Group Executive Committee, the new executives will report directly to the Group CEO, Albert Essien.
Mayilamene will replace Julie Essiam who resigned earlier this year. Prior to his appointment, Mayilamene was the Deputy Group Head of Human Resources and Head of Human Resources for Ecobank Nigeria.
Mayilamene, who joined Ecobank in 2012, has more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa. According to the statement, he started his career with British American Tobacco as a Graduate Trainee, and later held different HR positions there in Congo, Switzerland, Senegal and Kenya. Mayilamene later joined the telecomm industry in 2006 to become the Chief Human Resources Officer – Francophone Africa for Celta/Zain, and in 2010, he was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer – Africa for Airtel, covering 17 countries.
Prior to Anan-Ankomah’s appointment, she was the Managing Director of Ecobank Gambia. She joined the Ecobank Group in 1992 as a Treasury Officer in Ecobank Ghana, and subsequently held several senior positions within the Group.
Paul-Harry Aithnard was Group Head – Securities, Wealth and Asset Management for ETI. Before joining the Group in 2008 as Group Head Research, he was the Global Head Commodities, Co-Head Global Macro Investment Advisory in BBSP Investment Advisory, Paris-London; General Manager, Deputy Managing Director, BBSP Investment Advisory, Montreal-New York; and a lecturer at HEC Business School of Montreal.
Ecobank has presence in 36 African countries, and its headquarters is in Lome, Togo.
