Saudi Arabia issues 53 new industrial licenses

Data from the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources indicated that investments into new licenses for the month of April 2023 amounted to 5.8 billion riyals (US$1.16 billion).
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued 53 new industrial licenses during the month of April 2023, distributed among seven industrial manufacturing activities, led by food products (9), shaped metal products and other non-metallic mineral products (8), and 4 licenses each for base metals, paper-making and paper products, rubber and plastics products, and water collection treatment and delivery.
The report issued by the National Center for Industrial and Mining Information of the ministry stated that the total number of industrial licenses it has issued since the beginning of this year until the end of April amounted to 385 licenses, while the number of existing and under establishment factories in the Kingdom until the end of the same month reached 10,873 factories, with investments amounting to 1.440 trillion riyals (US$288 billion).
Data from the ministry indicated that investments into new licenses for the month of April 2023 amounted to 5.8 billion riyals (US$1.16 billion), with small businesses acquiring 94.34% of new industrial licenses, and medium-sized enterprises with 5.66%. Meanwhile national factories hold 66.04% of all licenses based on the type of investment, followed by foreign establishments which hold 11.32% of licenses, and joint investment establishments with 22.64%.
