Spiro partners Davido to drive electronic mobility across Africa

Spiro, one of Africa’s largest electric vehicle companies, has announced a strategic partnership with Nigeria’s Afrobeats musician, Davido, for 2025.
In a statement sent to Financial Nigeria on Sunday by Spiro, announcing the partnership, the company said its collaboration with Davido unites Africa’s leading voice in sustainable transportation with one of the continent’s most influential cultural icons, as they drive the message of clean energy, innovation, and empowerment across Africa.
According to the statement, Spiro is delivering clean energy and sustainable transportation in Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Tanzania, Benin, Togo, and Rwanda. Spiro riders have collectively driven more than 300 million kilometres without polluting Earth's atmosphere, helping to fight against lung disease and other related illnesses.
Davido, known globally for his chart-topping hits and electrifying performances, continues to break barriers. With hits such as “Awuke” and "Unavailable", and collaborations with international superstars, Davido has solidified his place as a cultural force, amassing millions of fans across the globe. Amongst his generation, Davido continues to be a leading exponent of the Afrobeats gear and his upcoming and highly-anticipated album, 5IVE, is set for release in early 2025.

It added that both entities will spotlight the company’s mission to provide clean, cost-effective transport options across the continent, showing how sustainability can be both aspirational and stylish.

Spiro has deployed over 22,000 electric bikes across Africa. It’s innovative battery-swapping stations, which has delivered approximately 9 million battery swaps in seven countries, are transforming mobility across the continent. Spiro said its e-bikes have covered more than 300 million kilometres, driven without carbon emissions. It maintains technical innovation centres in Pune, India, and Lagos, Nigeria.
